This semester, LUYA International School officially launched its Student-Led Morning Activities, a program designed to cultivate leadership, responsibility, and global awareness among students. The activities include Student Families, International Club Projects, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Student Forums, encouraging students to lead themselves as well as their peers.
As the highest grade level on campus, Grade 10 Pre-IB students are entrusted with the dual role of leading themselves and mentoring younger classmates. Based on their own interests, they plan, execute, and review semester-long projects. After three weeks of implementation, students have already demonstrated strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
For example, the International Club is organizing a beach cleanup activity. Prior to the event, student leaders prepared informative materials to help younger students understand the broader significance of beach cleanups—highlighting issues such as marine conservation, sustainable development, and youth social responsibility. This approach not only deepens the educational value of the event but also fosters meaningful cross-grade collaboration.
The school principal noted that through these initiatives, students are learning how to plan, execute, and collaborate effectively across grade levels, while also developing a strong sense of leadership and global citizenship. LUYA International School aims to nurture a new generation of youth with responsibility, influence, and action-oriented mindsets through authentic, student-led practices.
