WHAT IT MEANS

What Does IB Authorization Mean?

A school must complete the International Baccalaureate’s authorization process, confirming that its curriculum planning, teaching, professional development, student support, and governance meet IB requirements, before it can offer an IB programme. Authorized schools continue to take part in IB evaluation.

Authorization means the school is qualified to offer the programme; it does not guarantee any student’s results, diploma outcome, or university admission.

VERIFY

How to Verify Authorization

Families can use “Find an IB World School” on the International Baccalaureate’s official website to search for authorized schools and the programmes they offer. The school’s official announcements are also published in the school news.
