LUYA International School officially announced today that it has received authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Diploma Programme (DP), becoming an authorized IB World School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
This authorization signifies that the school has met the rigorous standards established by the IBO in curriculum design, teaching quality, student support, professional development for faculty, and school governance. It also reflects the school’s capacity to cultivate students with a global perspective, intercultural understanding, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Since its founding, LUYA International School has embraced the vision of “cultivating students with broad minds and ambitious aspirations to lead the world toward a better future.” The school is committed to creating an educational environment that combines strong local roots with a global outlook. Receiving IBDP authorization is not only a significant milestone in the school’s development, but also marks a new stage in its commitment to international education and academic excellence.
The IBDP is one of the world’s most respected pre-university programmes and is currently offered in more than 150 countries and thousands of schools worldwide. The programme emphasizes critical thinking, academic inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, and social responsibility. In addition to studying six subject groups, students are required to complete the core components of the programme: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). Together, these components foster students’ ability to think critically, conduct independent research, and put their learning into meaningful action.
The Principal stated: IBDP authorization is the result of the collective efforts of our students, parents, faculty, and administrative team. We believe that education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but the cultivation of students’ ability and responsibility to engage with the future world. LUYA will continue to place students at the center of learning through inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, and international education, guiding them to become compassionate, courageous, and action-oriented global citizens.
Throughout the authorization process, LUYA International School invested significant resources in teacher professional development, curriculum planning, and the enhancement of the learning environment. Guided by IB philosophy, the school established a curriculum framework based on inquiry, conceptual understanding, and interdisciplinary connections. It has also developed teaching approaches that address individual student needs and provide comprehensive learning support. In particular, the school has created a distinctive and well-developed curriculum in the areas
of languages, digital technology, intercultural understanding, and student university and career guidance.
In addition, LUYA International School continues to promote its “Four Languages Framework,” which integrates natural language, mathematical language, artistic language, and
computational language. This framework helps students build understanding, express ideas, and solve real-world problems across different disciplines and contexts. Combined with the IBDP, students will be able to achieve a balance between academic depth and interdisciplinary competence, preparing them for admission to universities around the world and for active participation in the global community.
