This August, LUYA International School's summer program extended far beyond the classroom, bringing excitement and energy to the Linkou Sports Center. As part of the Global Scholars Summer Program, the school specially arranged dedicated sports courses, giving students the chance to sharpen their reflexes, concentration, and strategic thinking through table tennis and squash. Between every swing of the racket and dash across the court, students discovered their own rhythm and breakthroughs.

In the table tennis sessions, the white ball zipped rapidly back and forth across the table as students kept their eyes fixed, moving their feet with agility—sometimes defending, sometimes launching a counterattack. The fast pace of the game not only trained hand–eye coordination and split-second decision-making but also taught students to stay calm under pressure and make precise shots. Whether complete beginners or experienced players, everyone found motivation and joy in improving their skills.

The squash classes were a double test of speed and endurance. In the enclosed court, students ran at full speed and swung their rackets swiftly, chasing the ball as it rebounded off the walls. This high-intensity sport demanded agility and explosive power, while also teaching the importance of strategic planning—knowing when to attack, when to defend, and how to use the walls to create opportunities. Many students exclaimed afterward, “It was exhausting, but so much fun!”

The school noted that including sports in the summer learning plan aims to help students develop not only physical fitness but also a positive and proactive lifestyle. Table tennis and squash both promote body coordination, stimulate quick thinking, and build adaptability, ensuring that what students gain on the court goes far beyond athletic skills—it's also about the confidence and perseverance to face challenges head-on.
