Luya International School held its first school day of the 114th academic year on the evening of September 24. The content covered a number of key points, including school affairs reports, IB education philosophy and implementation instructions, class discussions, etc., to help parents, teachers and students better understand the school's educational direction and educational characteristics.

The event featured a public lecture demonstrating IB's concept-based inquiry-based teaching and learning. Biology teacher Ema and Chinese teacher Zeng presented the lecture, focusing on the connection between inquiry-based learning processes, learning outcomes, and entrance exams. The lecture not only demonstrated the inquiry-based learning process but also provided explanations for the competency-based questions in the academic assessment and entrance exams, allowing students and parents to clearly see how classroom learning is closely aligned with academic requirements.

In this example, Teacher Ema uses the Swedish eco-city as a case study, guiding students to develop inquiry questions based on real-world situations and engage in cross-disciplinary thinking and discussion. Through this approach, students not only gain a deeper understanding of biology but also extend their learning to global sustainability and environmental issues, demonstrating the depth and breadth of inquiry-based learning.

In his report, the principal emphasized how the implementation of habit-based learning aligns with the IB curriculum (MYP and DP). He provided a detailed explanation of the curriculum framework, teaching materials, and core learning principles, highlighting how these concepts are applied to shaping students' personal identities, further guiding their continuous growth in self-discipline, inquiry, and international perspectives.

This school day event was not only a platform for communication between teachers, students and parents, but also allowed everyone to witness how Luya International School, through the combination of "habit-based learning and IB educational philosophy", leads students to develop comprehensively in knowledge, ability and literacy, and prepare them for future learning and challenges.
