On the morning of September 22, 2025, our school held a meaningful Peace Education event, inviting three Peace Fellows from different fields and international backgrounds to the campus to lead students in understanding the meaning of "peace" from multiple perspectives through discussion, digital thinking and theatrical experience.

The event will be held from 10:30 to 12:00 in different venues:

  • Benjamin Abtan (formerly Advisor to the UN Under-Secretary-General and Policy Advisor to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Justice) held a conversation with upper elementary students on the theme of "Starting Locally, Connecting Globally." Using keywords such as the names of several countries, the future, fear, and gender, he encouraged students to reflect on the connection between peace and their own lives.
  • Emma Baumhofer (Switzerland, USA | Digital Consultant and Designer, Swisspeace Digital Peacebuilding Special Advisor) discussed the "Digital Peacebuilding Toolbox" with junior high school students in the auditorium. Starting from social media comments, she led everyone to understand the responsibilities and challenges of digital platforms for peace.
  • Kefei Cao (Switzerland, China | Artistic Director of Nomadic Minutes Performing Arts Company, Berlin) led ninth grade and first grade high school students in the dance studio to conduct "Understanding Conflict Through Theatre: Peace Simulations on Stage." Through the use of oppression theatre, students experienced firsthand the process of conflict, cooperation, and reconciliation.

This event not only allowed students to engage closely with international experts, but more importantly, it opened a window to understanding peace education. Peace education is not simply about avoiding war or conflict; it is about developing everyday attitudes and skills, learning to replace arguments with respectful dialogue, identifying and rejecting hate speech in the digital world, and finding the potential for cooperation and reconciliation amidst conflict.

This philosophy aligns closely with our core values of respect, self-discipline, perseverance, and collaboration, helping students understand that peace is not just a lofty ideal but a way of life that can be practiced in everyday life on campus. The school hopes that these educational activities will serve as seeds for peace to sprout in the hearts of every student and spread to the wider society of the future.
