Seventy-two students from seven domestic and international schools gathered at LUYA International High School for an international exchange event focused on sustainability and global citizenship. Organized by LUYA International High School and co-organized by the Taoyuan City Government Department of Education and the Swedish Representative Office in Taiwan, the event brought together students from LUYA International High School, Lycée Beaulieu (France), 5 other Taoyuan Senior High Schools.

Centered on the theme “Sustainable Garden Systems and Future Cities,” the event featured a keynote speech by Mr. John Block, a Swedish expert in sustainable urban development. He introduced the concept of ecosystem services and demonstrated how nature-based solutions can improve climate resilience, biodiversity, and human well-being in urban environments.

During the opening ceremony, Ms. Helena Reitberger, Swedish Representative to Taiwan, praised LUYA International High School for its strong commitment to international education and for broadening students’ global perspectives through international collaboration.

Through workshops and cross-cultural teamwork, students developed SDG-aligned garden proposals, deepening their understanding of sustainability and global responsibility.
