Today, LUYA’s PE class featured a special fencing experience led by Coach Liu Chi-Hung, gold medalist in the men’s épée team event at this year’s National Games. Coach Liu not only demonstrated professional techniques but also gave an engaging introduction to the sport, helping students experience the unique balance of calmness and courage that fencing requires.

At the beginning of the class, Coach Liu explained the etiquette, and basic rules of fencing, emphasizing that “fencing is not merely a contest of speed and strength, but also a duel of wisdom and composure.” He then demonstrated proper stance, attack, and defense techniques, guiding students through footwork drills and allowing them to experience the rhythm and strategy behind each movement.

Under Coach Liu’s guidance, students learned fundamental fencing skills while developing focus, self-control, and confidence. The class atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic, with many students expressing that it was a rare and exciting experience unlike any other PE class.
